Your frame:

Welcome to Wallie

Wallie is a wireless photo frame that updates from your phone or computer. The display is e-ink — full color, paper-like, no glow, no glare. Hang it where you’d hang a print, and change what’s on it whenever you like.

  • Looks like a real photo. Like you printed it and hung it on the wall — not a screen.
  • Everyone can add to it. The whole household shares the frame. No one person has to be the curator.
  • Months on a single charge. E-ink only uses power when the picture changes. Charge it and forget about it.
  • Simple to set up, powerful if you want it. Out of the box in minutes. Advanced options are there when you’re ready.
  • The Wallie app — on a phone (iOS or Android), or on a computer with the desktop app
  • A Wi-Fi network (optional — see Direct Transfer below)
  1. Pair the frame with your phone or computer over Bluetooth.
  2. Pick photos in the app. They’re optimized for the e-ink display.
  3. The frame updates on its own schedule — every few hours, or whenever you want.

That’s it. No subscriptions to view your own photos. No ads.

Setting up from this computer? The desktop app offers the same kind of choice under different names — Copy photos onto the frame or Get new photos over your home Wi-Fi. See the Desktop App guide. The table below describes the phone app’s options.

You pick one of these the first time you connect Wallie.

How it worksWallie syncs photos from your phone over your home Wi-Fi.Photos go directly from your phone to the frame whenever you send them. No internet, no Wallie servers, no cloud.
Best forDay-to-day use at home.Locations without Wi-Fi, or anyone who prefers to skip the cloud.

Prefer a computer to a phone? The Wallie desktop app (Mac, Windows, Linux) can set up frames and send photos too. → Desktop App

Want to run your own Wallie server at home? Keep your photos on your own network — no cloud required. → Advanced options

Every Wallie follows the schedule you set in the app — active hours (e.g. 7am–11pm) and how often the photo rotates — and you can adjust it whenever you like.

Power is managed for you: the frame sleeps deeply between rotations for the longest battery life, and listens for your phone over Bluetooth the whole time — the app wakes it and pushes changes at any hour. Nothing to configure, months per charge.

Two power modes control what happens between scheduled rotations:
